After searching for the right community, and planning for the next step in your life, you’ve finally decided to call Pennswood Village your home. So, what is your next step? The process of becoming a resident of Pennswood Village is made easier with the help of our friendly, experienced staff.

Each person moving to Pennswood is unique, and is often faced with circumstances, questions, and challenges that we are happy to talk about and suggest solutions. Our staff knows that moving can be fun and uplifting, but it can also sometimes be confusing, scary and unfamiliar. Our staff takes great pleasure in making your move as stress-free as possible by getting to know you and your expectations.

Finding Your Ideal Space

There are several studio and one-bedroom apartment homes currently available for immediate occupancy. If these size apartments are a good fit for you, the next decision that you’ll make is applying for either a Life Care or Fee-for-Service contract.

If you decide to apply for a Life Care contract, there will be a financial and medical review. At this time you will also meet with one of our nurse practitioners to evaluate your health and to answer any questions you may have.

If you decide to apply for a Fee-for-Service contract, there will only be a financial review. Our staff can explain each contract in detail and go over the costs, amenities, and services included in each.

Let’s Get Moving!

The move-in process between the time you select an apartment and when you call Pennswood Village your new home typically takes about 90 days, during which time our personal moving consultant will work with you to help customize your apartment home and figure out the logistics of moving.

Your personal moving consultant will be a resource for all your moving needs. They can work with you and your realtor to help sell your house, help you organize the layout of your new home, and act as a liaison to the contractors customizing your apartment home to ensure that everything is to your specifications. Moving consultants can also work with a senior move manager if you choose to use one. A senior move manager can help you with rightsizing for your new home.

On moving day, Pennswood will provide you with a guest suite so that you or your family members won’t have to worry about setting up everything you may need in one day. Don’t worry about cooking either! We will also provide you and family members or friends with a complimentary dinner in our dining room.

The Priority Wait List

If you are looking for a two-bedroom apartment, Pennswood Village has a wide variety of floor plans, and square footage, to choose from. Many of our two-bedroom apartments have wait lists ranging from six months to more than five years. We welcome applicants to join our Priority Wait List for one of these apartment home sizes. The Priority Wait List requires a deposit, which is applied to your entry fee when you move to Pennswood and refunded in full should you not join the community.

During your time on the Priority Reservation List, a sales counselor will stay in touch with you about your status and about the steps to take once your apartment home becomes available. You will also be able to immerse yourself in the community by taking advantage of some of the wonderful amenities that Pennswood Village has to offer. In addition to invitations to exclusive events, you will also have the opportunity to join our wellness and fitness center for a modest monthly fee.

When your selected apartment home becomes available, we will work with you to help you make the transition to your new home.
