FAQ: What do my Life Care entrance fee and monthly fees go toward?
Pennswood Village is a Quaker retirement community located in Bucks County, offering area seniors an active, maintenance-free retirement lifestyle in an inclusive environment. With exceptional services and amenities, and a full continuum of healthcare services, Pennswood is a nationally respected organization.
Pennswood is also proud to offer a Life Care Contract, an agreement that guarantees residents priority access to multiple levels of healthcare services, such as personal care and skilled nursing, right on campus.
When you become a resident of Pennswood Village, you will pay a one-time entrance fee that covers the cost of the residence and future healthcare services. Thereafter, you will pay for a monthly service package that includes the upkeep of your residence, the community and campus, dining services, housekeeping services, utilities and so much more — all of which contributes to freeing your time.
The residence you choose directly affects both the entrance fee and the cost of the monthly service package. This means that our studios and one-bedroom apartment homes are an excellent value, giving you all the benefits of the services and campus amenities, for a lower entrance fee and monthly service package fee.
Beautiful Residences
Part of your monthly service fee goes toward the maintenance of your apartment home. All of our modern, renovated independent living apartments feature one or two bedrooms, full kitchens with dishwashers, in-unit washers and dryers, and autonomous control of heating and cooling. Many also feature dens. Each residence also features an outdoor space: a patio or balcony from which you can enjoy our beautiful campus.
Exceptional Amenities
Also included in the monthly service package is the range of on-campus wellness features, including a gym, two pools and exercise classes ranging from gentle stretching and balance workshops to serious cardio workouts. For outdoor exercise, we offer walking trails, a bocce court, a croquet court and a putting green.
Indoor amenities include art galleries, a woodshop, a library, a gift shop, a bank, a mailroom and an auditorium, which hosts a wide variety of community events and movies almost every day of the week.
Services
Our expansive services provide a maintenance-free lifestyle, and open up your time to spend on more meaningful things. We offer multiple dining venues on-site, with varying menu options, and a very flexible dining plan designed to meet the needs of busy residents.
One phone call will summon a maintenance team member for any issues or problems in your apartment, and our housekeeping crew visits once a week to clean and change linens.
Perhaps the most valuable feature included in the monthly service fee is your peace of mind, knowing that if your healthcare needs ever change, you’ll have priority access to our other levels of care.
“Our residents consistently tell us that Life Care at Pennswood Village is one of the best gifts to give to your children – and to yourself,” says Jennifer Doone, marketing director. “It provides residents and their families the knowledge that their loved ones are living a full and active life while current and future healthcare needs take place right here on campus with competent and compassionate staff providing appropriate levels of support, when necessary, along the way.”
