A photographer who works primarily with black-and-white images, Paul Jett’s study of the art and culture of East Asia are the sources for his style of work. Chinese ink paintings, . with their simple depictions of ordinary things like a branch of a tree or a stalk of bamboo convey deeper meanings. This aesthetic inspires him. The graphic quality of his images eliminates visual noise and clutter. Studying his work invokes an internal calmness in the viewer, who feels transported to a still moment held forever.
