Pennswood Village recently invited women from the surrounding area who are exploring their futures on their own to join us for a relaxing Girls’ Night Out: Paint & Sip. The evening offered guests a chance to experience Pennswood in a fun and welcoming way while connecting with women who had once been in their shoes.

With guidance from our talented Paint the Town instructor, everyone created a beautiful, peaceful sunset scene. Although guests followed the same general design, they were encouraged to choose their own colors and add personal touches, allowing everyone’s creativity to shine. By the end of the evening, no two paintings looked exactly alike!

Several Pennswood residents—fellow single women who made the decision to move to Pennswood on their own—painted alongside our guests, sharing laughter, stories and honest conversation throughout the evening. Having been in their shoes not too long ago, they spoke openly about their experiences, shared what helped them decide to make Pennswood home and answered some of the harder questions that naturally arise when considering a move to a Life Plan Community.

Our Sales Team also traded paperwork for paintbrushes and joined in the fun. Painting together created a relaxed atmosphere where guests could get to know our team—and Pennswood—beyond a traditional tour or appointment. A few hidden artistic talents may have even been discovered along the way!

Of course, no Paint & Sip would be complete without something delicious. Our Culinary Team prepared a wonderful selection of food, refreshing summer beverages and sweet treats for everyone to enjoy. The chocolate-covered soft pretzels were an undeniable crowd favorite!

For many guests, the evening provided a helpful first look at Pennswood and the value of beginning the search early.
“I am only beginning to explore my options, so this evening gave me such a wonderful taste of the Community,” one guest shared. “The residents at my table encouraged me to start planning now, before I truly need to make a decision. Everyone was so welcoming, and I appreciated how honest and helpful they were.”

The evening was filled with creativity, delicious food, candid conversation and meaningful new connections. More importantly, it gave our guests the opportunity to experience the warmth of Pennswood through the people who know it best.

We look forward to welcoming more future residents to campus and creating opportunities where they can ask questions, build connections and begin picturing what their next chapter could look like.

Because sometimes the best way to picture what’s next is to start with a blank canvas.
