On Sunday, July 21, 2019, an exhibit of Keith Sharp’s digital fine art photographs opens at the Pennswood Art Gallery, 1382 Newtown-Langhorne Road in Newtown, PA with a wine and cheese reception from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., preceded by an illustrated presentation by the artist from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. in Penn Hall. Both events are free and open to the public.

Sharp combines creativity with playfulness in making digital images which he labels surrealistic. If you look carefully at his pieces you realize his work tricks the eye into accepting an image that could not be. The next question you ask yourself is, “How does he create a photo of a natural scene that is not natural at all?” His work is mysterious, poetic and draws you into a fantasy image your mind accepts as reality.

Sharp, a graduate of the University of the Arts, has exhibited widely in such diverse venues as the Woodmere Art Museum; the US Botanical Gardens, Washington, DC; Rolin Rice Gallery, NY, NY; and the Kimball Art Center, Park City, UT: and is  in collections ranging from the Free Library of Philadelphia; the Michener Art Museum, Doylestown, PA; the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, DC; to the University of Texas, Tyler, TX.

The Pennswood Art Gallery, which has been exhibiting artists for 36 years including such famous names a Harry Leith Ross, Daniel Garber, and more recently Jon Redmond, Earl B. Lewis, Bruce Garrity, William B.Hogan, and Peter Treiber, is a non-profit contemporary fine art gallery located in Pennswood Village on Route 413.  For information about the reception and artist’s presentation call 215-960-9110.
