PENNSWOOD VILLAGE HOSTS RIBBON-CUTTING FOR NEW PUTTING GREEN
On Wednesday, June 15 under cloudless blue skies, Jack Bertolino, a Co-Chair of the PVRA Bocce/Putting Green Committee, welcomed the crowd of nearly 80 people attending the official ribbon cutting of the Pennswood Village Putting Green.
“The Putting Green is a wonderful addition to the courtyard and completes the Three Sport Outdoor Sports Center,” said Jack. He also acknowledged the work of his resident Co-Chairs, Jack Williams and Bill Strong, and the tremendous support from all Committee members.
Chris Weir, of Southwest Greens, Delaware Valley, designed and installed the nine hole Putting Green and spoke briefly about the exceptional quality of the Green.
Jack invited CEO Ben Hoyle to address the guests. Ben thanked the members of the Bocce/Putting Green Committee and also thanked Pennswood Landscape Manager, Drew Mason, and the Pennswood Grounds Department for their help in building the Green and for the beautiful landscaping surrounding the area. Ben mentioned that the health and wellness of Pennswood Residents is most important and there is nothing better than being outdoors and pursuing physical activities to strengthen and grow the mind, body, and spirit.
Residents were asked to raise their glasses of champagne in a celebratory toast as Ben cut the ribbon to officially open the Pennswood Village Putting Green.
Spectators watched residents Jack Lane and Todd Waymon demonstrate putting on the Green while emcee, Jack Williams, gave details about the Green and how to play it. Great rounds of applause erupted as the golfers demonstrated their putting skills and made the holes. As the official ribbon cutting ended, guests were invited to have more champagne and cheese and crackers.
Resident Committee members were available to teach residents how to putt and play bocce and croquet.
