Environmental Responsibility
We are good stewards of the land, as in our groundbreaking, award-winning storm water management system hidden beneath 10 acres of the meadow. Looking at the campus you’d never know how truly effective the system is, and that’s just the point. You’ll be free to enjoy the beauty, knowing it’s being responsibly preserved. The community’s involvement with LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) has also transformed our approach to future design, construction and maintenance. A geothermal system harnesses the thermal power of the earth to heat and cool our community building and health center. With our comprehensive recycling program, a commitment to responsible landscaping using native trees, shrubs and grasses, our kitchen garden and our active Environmental Concerns Committee made up of residents, we are always seeking new ways to preserve our environment both here on campus and beyond.
